More than 170 kinds of minerals have been discovered in China

According to Xinhua News Agency Tianjin Electric (Reporters Bai Jiali and Huang Jianglin) reporters recently learned from the 2021 China International Mining Conference held in Tianjin that by the end of 2020, China had discovered 173 kinds of minerals, including 13 kinds of energy minerals, 59 kinds of metallic minerals, 95 kinds of non-metallic minerals, and 6 kinds of water and gas minerals.
The 《China Mineral Resources Report 2021》 compiled by the Ministry of Natural Resources shows that in the past ten years (2011-2020) since the implementation of the strategic action of finding mineral breakthroughs, China has formed a number of important strategic succession areas for mineral resources.
The report shows that in terms of oil and gas exploration, the newly proven geological reserves of oil and natural gas in the past ten years were 10.1 billion tons and 6.85 trillion cubic meters respectively, accounting for about 25% and 45% of the total cumulative proven reserves since the founding of New China. Shale gas exploration and development has made considerable progress, with an annual output of 11.7 billion cubic meters in the South Sichuan Gas Field and 6.7 billion cubic meters in the Fuling Gas Field.
